About Me!
Hi! My name is Stefanie Zegler.
I am a certified and licensed Speech Language Pathologist and founder of Little Speech Studio.
I believe each child’s speech and language development is unique to their imagination, creativeness, and interests.
Let’s capture these strengths and help guide them to form new ideas and connections within their environment!
My Story
I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Disorders and my Master’s Degree in Speech and Language Pathology from Central Michigan University. FIRE UP CHIPS! I hold a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA) and a Michigan Speech Language Pathology license.
Over the past 15 years, I have had the pleasure to work with some amazing children and families within outpatient hospital settings, outpatient private clinics, and center-based school programs. I have worked with many children who presented with Autism, ADHD, Cerebral Palsy, Downs Syndrome, Hearing Impairments, Cleft Palate/Lip, Genetic Disorders, and other Neurological Disorders. My journey within my career has led me to complete various continuing education opportunities; in which I am Level 2 PROMPT trained, Level 1 Oral Placement Therapy trained, and Level 1 PECS trained. Other continuing education topics include: early intervention, play-based therapy, AAC, and Natural Language Acquisition (Gestalt Language Processing). Collaboration with occupational therapists, physical therapists, and ABA therapists has been an amazing contribution to my therapeutic experience, specifically within identifying and addressing sensory processing disorders, supporting motor coordination difficulties and positioning techniques, and applying safe and realistic behavior management strategies when necessary for learning.
When I am not treating, I enjoy spending time with my family out in the community, traveling, gardening, attending concerts, and being crafty!
